The Concept
Growing up I was an indie/alternative kind of girl, but in the last year, I’ve gained an appreciation for hip hop. With this publication project, I decided to create Fresh, a hip hop magazine that highlights young talent, focusing on artists under the age of 30. I applied an indie touch to hip hop with the use of negative space, muted colors, and clean design. Unlike other magazines of this genre, Fresh doesn’t clutter its pages with fashion trends, but rather focuses on the artists’ projects, passions, and lifestyles.
A digital version of Fresh was also created, allowing for additional features like music and video.
